Arya vs. Sansa

Looks like there are only two categories of people: those who like Arya and those who love Sansa. Apparently, you can’t be both at the same time. As for me, I am a Sansa person. Arya’s story appeals to me (all that death god business, hell yea!), but the character is less interesting to me than her sister.

Why so? Well, I’m not saying that badass girls such as Arya don’t exist in this world, but Sansa is definitely more lifelike. Everybody knows a Sansa (actually, most girls are Sansa). But that’s not the reason. Arya reminds me of a stereotypical anime/manga character–this supercute little kid who overcomes inhuman obstacles, steadily upping her levels and garnering more and more pac-dots with each book/season. The only future I see for Arya is more badassness, which is predictable. With Sansa, on the other hand… She is more of our world, and you can’t predict how that’s gonna turn out.

NEWS OF SEASON 5 DORNE CASTING & STUFF

Whooooo! It’s been a long time since my presence graced these hallowed halls. Been busy rereading Feast for Crows & Dance with Dragons. FoC is still my favorite book of the whole series, and I like DwD much more now (the first time I read it, I was not super impressed). I’ve had these blog posts fermenting in my head all that time, and I want to spew them out here in the near future. Wanna tell the world about why I like Sansa more than Arya, in what way the faith of the Seven differs from Catholicism, and, of course, what is special about the Kingslayer eyeshadow.

But now, I want to offer my super valuable and important perspective on some recent news from the GoT world. First of all, this is a thing now, and I fucking approve…

Who Should Sit on the Iron Throne?

*****!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!*****

Every ASoIaF/ GoT fan has an opinion on who might be the best candidate for the Iron Throne. I am no exception. I actually have two opinions. One, the throne must be destroyed and they should all have Anarchy. Not “stupid chaos” (which is what people usually mean when they say “anarchy”), but life so intelligent and responsible that there is no need for authority. I do think that Anarchy in this sense would be the highest stage of human evolution. But let’s be realistic here—the GoT society is not mature enough for that. So the next best option would be an awesome ruler. And if you ask me, who that person might be, I would say…

And the Scariest Person on Game of Thrones is…

…Stannis’s wife, Selyse Baratheon.

I swear to you, when I saw her on S4E2, I literally had CHILLS down my spine. That’s how crazy she is. Melisandre is also supposed to be a fanatic, but she has a kind of a trolly vibe about her. She also seems more mysterious than scary. Selyse, on the other hand, is an obvious fucknut.

Jaime Raping Cersei–What Was That About?

******!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!*****

All right, now I am just gonna dive right in and explore the most controversial aspect of S4E3, namely the scene where Jaime forces himself on his twin sister Cersei. That bit provoked an outrage on the Internet, mainly because it wasn’t in the book. Yep, in A Storm of Swords the said sex scene is more ambiguous, because she says no in the beginning, but eventually agrees. (That “gray area” reminded me of the scene in True Detective where Rust fucks Maggie. He basically slut-shames her after the deed–does it mean that he is being sexist, or is his behavior a sign of extreme distress?) Adam Graves, who directed the GoT episode, has said that “…it becomes consensual by the end, because anything for [Cersei and Jaime] ultimately results in a turn-on, especially a power struggle.” That actually doesn’t make any sense in terms of character development, as he implies that they always were like that, and every interaction they have inevitably results in them getting the hornies for each other. I believe there are other issues at play as well.

Where to Buy Awesome Game of Thrones T-Shirts? Part 1

BOOM! Ding dong, the bitch is dead! I can’t stop gloating over Jojo’s purple zombie face. In comparison to that bomb, the latest episode felt a bit lackluster, even though it had Oberyn, crazy wildlings, and lovable Pod. Oh, and it also was a big “fuck you” to everyone who had been swooning over The Hound and Jaime after Season 3. Sandor stealing from the 99% and Jaime raping Cersei were reminders that there are no sweethearts on the show. Well, except for Sam, Gilly, and Podrick. Those are the characters that haven’t done anything questionable so far.

On to our main course… I promised to show some clothes! My husband and I are avid t-shirt collectors, and given our mutual obsession with the show, we couldn’t help but purchase a couple of GoT-themed pieces. Today’s post is dedicated to this badass tank top by Moshi-kun.
